GGC PROJECTS
Taylor Newton
San Luis Obispo & Morro Bay, California, USA
Where it all began
The GGC of San Luis Obispo was created as a solution to urban problems by a dozen young women & men who operated an urban farm in the seaside city of Morro Bay under the guidance of their leader Taylor Newton.
Key programs include:
Urban Park Design & Installation - Guerrilla Gardening
Urban Street Tree Nursery Propagation & Installation - Guerrilla Gardening
Zero-Waste Events - Public Service
Historical Properties Grounds Management - Nonprofit Program
Estate Gardens & Orchards Management - Nonprofit Program
Responsible children try to repair the tragedies of their family history & ancestral journeys
As an act of peaceful protest & job creation, Taylor & the Morro Bay GGC planted hundreds of street trees in abandoned public planters, garnished municipal contracts to design & renovate dozens of city park landscapes, propagated & sold nursery stock for the municipal government, & contracted for grounds management at public & private historical tourist destinations.
In addition, the group created a model of Zero-Waste Event Education that raised thousands of dollars for their global not-for-profit GGC foundation.
California // The Shining Star of American Expansionism
California is the shining star of American expansionism & European political-religious exploration.
San Luis Obispo is one of the hundreds of cities created over the centuries by the Roman Catholic Church throughout North & South America.
This horrifying theocratic history defines the culture & aspirations of “The Golden State” & the story of the Guerrilla Gardening Club.
